I was so proud of this blog title but realized not everyone knows Mary Wollstonecraft’s work “A Vindication of the Rights of Woman.” Okay, okay. Lame play on the name of the new VTO gowns, Dyed in the Wollstonecraft. See? *big sigh*

As modeled by the lovely Miss Eleanor Anderton, this dress is perfect for Western, Steampunk, and Victorian wear. It’s a tea length empire waist dress, with lace petticoats peeking out below. This dress shows off those adorable 19th shoes you have.

Notice the delicate shading of the colors and the lace details. Besides Emerald and Aubergine, the dress also is available in Ash and Turquoise. This really is a nice look.

Saucy demi skirt version

Dyed in the Wollstonecraft gown includes: gown, knickers, stockings, 2 system/glitch skirts. It’s trans and the prim pieces are mod. There’s a cute bow in the back of the dress.

Velut Tempus Gives a Reason to Love

“Give me a reason to love you,” she croons as she lies in the moonlight. I’ve always liked strong women in music and literature and find them to be vastly more interesting than the simpering proper kinds. When you want to feel strong and feminine, Velut Tempus is the outfit for you.

I love the group Portishead and their song “Glory Box” is a perfect match with this sultry outfit: “I’m so tired, of playing/Playing with this bow and arrow/Gonna give my heart away.”

The beautiful Breezy is modeling Eos, a black and white brocade. It comes with a buckle strap timepiece corset, long and short skirts, and matching stockings. Other colors are Nox (black) and Amo (dusty red) and they also include a jacket.

Direct From the Dark Continent

Sometimes you want to do something different. Explore new worlds, visit places you don’t have the money for in real life. Naturally, you need the right clothing to help you get into the spirit. Can’t traipse around Africa or Egypt in a ballgown (actually you can, but meh). To feed your need for exploration, the ArthurConan Doyle Safari Suite is perfect.

SL Ladies who prefer Victorian, Steampunk, and Western fashion

Allow me to introduce myself: I am not a builder, designer, or scripter. In fact, I am pretty much without skills in SL, but I am interested in fashion. Ah yes, one of those ladies who read blogs, prowl shops, and ask complete strangers where they got that outfit. Finding a good store, scoring a great looking outfit, and helping others to do the same makes me feel grand.

Actually, there is more to me than my interest in fashion, but that’s not the point of this blog. Viv makes wonderful clothing, and this blog will highlight some of her designs.

For those out there who play in nineteenth century sims, you know it’s hard to find clothing that is true to the period yet gives you a unique look. A visit to Viv Trafalgar Outfitters, located in bustling Port Babbage in the New Babbage sims will be worth your time.

Lady Ching was a powerful and mysterious privateer and her spirit is reflected in the dresses that bear her name. Notice the embellished silk top with see through panel, the tired skirts, the split prim pants with underslacks. This is an elegant look that you will love.

Not Your Typical Pirate Captain

For those times you want to show a bit of leg and those saucy high button boots, the Avast series of dresses is piratey with a shot of steam. There are 3 dresses in the series, each named after a real female pirate. Bonny Ann Suite is in shades of beige and brown, Charlotte de Berry Suite in blue, and Mary Reed in red. Each dress has its own unique look with a nice variety of different clothing options.
